Types of Road Sweeping Brushes

Roller brushes (cylindrical sweeping brushes) — The primary sweeping element on most street sweeper machines. The roller brush spans the full width of the sweeper head and rotates to sweep debris forward into the collection hopper. Available in polypropylene (PP) and mixed PP/steel wire configurations for different road surface conditions.

Side broom brushes (disc broom brushes) — Rotating side brushes mounted at the front corners of the sweeper vehicle. They sweep debris from gutters, kerbs, and road edges into the path of the main roller brush. Available in PP wire and mixed filament construction.

Wafer ring brushes — Stacked disc-type brush segments assembled onto a central shaft to form the sweeping element. Individual wafer rings can be replaced as they wear, making this design cost-effective for high-wear applications. Available in PP/steel wire mixed construction for general road sweeping and snow removal.

Available Filament Materials

• Polypropylene (PP) — The standard filament for general road sweeping on paved surfaces. Durable, weather-resistant, and effective for collecting fine dust, leaves, and light debris without damaging road surfaces.
• Steel wire mixed with PP — Combined PP and steel wire construction for more aggressive sweeping of heavy debris, gravel, and compacted dirt. The steel wire provides additional stiffness and penetration while the PP improves collection efficiency.
• Mixed snow sweeping filament — Flexible, cold-weather-resistant filaments designed to maintain effective sweeping performance at low temperatures without becoming brittle or losing shape.
