Construction

Descaling spiral brushes are built from a strip brush core wound into a spring-like inward (inverted) coil configuration. The bristles face inward toward the center bore, allowing wire rods, bars, or ropes to pass through while the rotating brush aggressively contacts the workpiece surface from all sides. The channel holder is available in galvanized steel or stainless steel. Inside diameter is manufactured to order, from under 10mm up to 50mm or larger for custom requirements.

Available Wire and Filament Materials

• High-tensile carbon steel wire — The standard choice for heavy-duty descaling on wire rods and steel bars. High hardness for aggressive scale and rust removal.
• Copper-coated steel wire — Combines steel wire strength with copper coating to reduce ferrous contamination on the workpiece surface. Widely used on wire drawing and galvanizing pre-treatment lines.
• Brass wire — Softer than steel, used where spark risk must be avoided or where the workpiece surface requires gentler treatment. Also suitable for non-ferrous metal applications.
• Stainless steel wire — For corrosion-resistant applications or where carbon contamination of the workpiece is not acceptable.
• Abrasive nylon — Silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive filaments for combined descaling and surface finishing in a single pass.
• Nylon — For lighter cleaning, lubrication residue removal, and applications where metal wire would damage the workpiece.
